The leader of the Rokuyokai team, Zeru, challenges Hiei, who is seemingly overwhelmed by the initial fire assault. However, Kurama deceives Roto by conversing with him until a seed Kurama planted in Roto at the start of the round blooms, killing Roto from the inside. Kurama battles Roto, who threatens to have his brother kill Kurama's human mother. Although Kuwabara displays his newfound ability to wield two swords at once, he is unable to overcome Rinku's assault. Kazuma Kuwabara faces off against Rinku, the first member of Team Rokuyokai. Yusuke and his friends, displaying their enhanced abilities, easily dispose of the demons aboard the ship to pass the preliminaries. Team Urameshi finds out that the preliminary competition is on the ship itself, on the way to Hanging Neck Island. After this period, they join together, alongside a disguised fifth fighter that Yusuke brings, as Team Urameshi. Yusuke and his allies begin a two-month training period. Yusuke Urameshi once again meets Toguro, who forces Yusuke to enter the "Dark Tournament," or he will kill all of Yusuke's friends. Plus, the deadly Toguro brothers enter the ring, and a mysterious masked fighter steps in. Locked into the fierce competition of The Dark Tournament, there's more than the fighters' lives on the line! Everything turns grim when a demon from the past is reawakened. Survival is the order of the day as Yusuke and his allies face off against the worst of the worst in the Demon World. The first was released on July 27, 2004, and the second on October 26, 2004. However, Yusuke refuses, telling him they will fight again when he is better. After the match, he tells Yusuke to finish him off in accordance with terms of the match. The two then end the fight with a double headbutt, Chu's trademark, and it seems the stronger head will prevail. Keik] then understands as she sees the exhilaration on Yusuke's face as he trades blows with Chu. He explains to her about how they got trapped into fighting at the Dark Tournament Competition and that as a team, they want to be there fighting to settle things once and for all. Keiko reappears on the arena floor and confronts Kuwabara about why he isn't helping Yusuke, who has flashbacks of Toguro. Fortunately for her, Sakyo diverts her path and rescues her from a gruesome fate. Keiko gets worried about Yusuke and leaves the stands crying, and Shizuru follows but loses her and is ganged up on by numerous low class demons. His name is revealed to be the mysterious Karasu, and he is a member of Team Toguro. Meanwhile, an enigmatic demon makes his first appearance of the series in the halls of the stadium, leaving the security guards smoldering on the concrete. Everyone watches in suspense and admiration as Chu and Yusuke exchange impressive flurries of body blows and uppercuts. The weather takes an ominous and foreboding turn as the match gets underway and both competitors begin to pummel the life out of each other with heavy punches. The committee wavers on the decision, but eventually allows the match into play. Rinku seems confident Chu will win, while Team Urameshi remains more neutral with the exception of Kuwabara, who seems completely clueless. While waiting for approval, Chu proceeds to explain the rules of the deathmatch: the two will fight to the death with their fists after placing their feet in front of knives stabbed into the ground. Chu proposes they end the fight with a "Knife-Edge Deathmatch", and after Yusuke eagerly agrees despite not knowing what the deathmatch entails, they wait for a decision from the tournament committee. The fight continues with both Yusuke and Chu completely drained of their energy. After a brutal fight, Yusuke overcomes Chu, but spares his life. Yusuke and Chu battle between two knives, with the loser receiving death at the hands of the victor.
